Common ways of creating social media friendly websites are social media share buttons, API integration, automatic content distribution, and metric tracking. Share buttons are great since it links directly to your social pages and can be placed anywhere, however, they won’t show any content from the social pages on the website itself. API integration is great to have cards of specific posts from your social pages, but that is also a limit since each card is a single post. Automatic distribution is perfect so new website posts are automatically added to social media pages without manual intervention. Metric tracking is great to view how social posts are doing with things like engagement and comments. Although, it can eat up server resources.
Alume Studio would use social share buttons and API integration since they are two of the most simple, yet effective way to integrate social accounts into the website. It allows a social media presence that promotes engagement while still limiting what is on the website and what is on social media (which is good or bad depending on an individual business’ use case).
Metric tracking is useful to see how successful social content is at driving engagement and business to your website and how user growth changes over time. It allows you to analyze and pivot content strategies as needed too. High metrics mean you are doing well and should keep up with what you are already doing. Low metrics mean you need to change things up based on what users prefer seeing/interacting with.
